Dr. Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas and the Director of the Center for Research in Economics (ACRE). Dr. Mitchell teaches principles of economics, public finance, econometrics, and entrepreneurship policy. His research includes articles in the Journal of Small Business Management, the Cato Journal, the Journal of Economic Education, and the Southern Economic Journal. He has testified multiple times before the Arkansas legislature on occupational licensing, tax competition, and scope of practice regulation. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Clemson University and a PhD in economics from George Mason University.
