About
Brian P. Simpson is a professor and chair of the Department of
Accounting, Finance, and Economics in the College of Professional
Studies at National University in San Diego, CA. His research focuses
on monetary and banking theory, the business cycle, the philosophical
foundations of economic ideas, and the requirements of a free society.
He is author of the book A Declaration and Constitution for a Free
Society (Lexington Books, 2021). In addition, he is author of the two-
volume comprehensive exposition and defense of Austrian business
cycle theory titled Money, Banking, and the Business Cycle (Palgrave
Macmillan, 2014). He is also author of the book Markets Don’t Fail!
(Lexington Books, 2005). Markets Don’t Fail! was translated into
Chinese in 2012. Dr. Simpson has a Ph.D. in economics from George
Mason University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a BS in
aerospace engineering from Syracuse University.
